AHEA is a Preferred Provider for Various Funded Programs

AHEA has been appointed a preferred provider under a number of Jobs & Skills WA programs.  These provide Government support for trainees who undertake training in select industry areas. There are differing selection criteria in each program and Government Fees and Charges apply.

Based on the Government’s VET Fees and Charges Policy for 2023 the following applies:

# For fee-free courses, the following eligibility criteria apply.

To be eligible for free training, reduced-fee qualifications or a subsidised training place; you must have left school*, have your primary place of residence in Western Australia, and are either:

  • an Australian citizen; or
  • a permanent visa holder or holder of visa subclass 309, 444, 449, 785, 786, 790, or 820; or
  • a dependent or spouse of the primary holder of a visa subclass 457 or 482; or
  • a bridging visa holder who has made a valid application for a visa subclass 866; or
  • a bridging visa E holder (subclasses 050 and 051) who has made a valid application for a visa subclass 785 or 790.

*In 2023, Year 12 school students who are leaving school can access a subsidised training place from 23 October 2023.

Please note that existing worker trainees are not eligible for the fee-free arrangements.

~ The maximum course fee chargeable for secondary school aged persons not enrolled at school is $420 in 2023. This is the total fee for all courses the student is enrolled in.

* Excludes Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications that are targeted fee relief courses.

** Excludes existing work traineeships and targeted fee relief apprenticeships and traineeships.

The following students are entitled to the concession rate on course fees:

  • Persons and dependants of persons holding;
    • A Pensioner Concession Card.
    • A Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
    • A Health Care Card.
  • Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
    • Workforce Australia; or
    • ParentsNext
  • Persons and dependants of persons in receipt of AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY.
  • Persons and dependants of persons in receipt of the Youth Allowance.
  • Persons and dependants of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution.
  • Secondary school aged persons, not enrolled at school.

 

Proof of eligibility for concession must be demonstrated prior to the commencement of the unit. If the concession is valid for the full enrolment period, then all eligible units commenced within that period attract the concession rate. If the concession is valid for part of the enrollment period, then only eligible units commenced prior to the expiry of the concession attract the concession rate.

 

Nominal hours means the hours assigned to units as set out in the course outline defined on the Department’s VETinfoNet website.
